The Glenrothes has unveiled The 42, a uncommon limited-edition single malt whisky that has been crafted from hand-selected casks, matured for over 4 many years within the distillery’s Highland dwelling.
Grasp Whisky Maker Laura Rampling has chosen 4 casks which have reached a pinnacle of flavour, showcasing the altering colors of the Rothes panorama and a vibrant flavour profile. Distinctive aromas of sun-ripened apricots, sugared almonds, orange peel and coriander seed mingle with creamy vanilla, honeycomb and aromatic orange oil on the palate, with a lingering fragrant end. The colorful, contoured packaging is reflective of the Rothes terrain.
Laura Rampling explains that this 42 12 months previous whisky “epitomises the character of The Glenrothes distillery. These 4 casks have taken our spirit on a journey of maturation over greater than 4 many years, refining the unique delicate and fruity character of our new make spirit with out overpowering it. Half science, half alchemy and just a little little bit of magic, the result’s a fantastically elegant whisky that really permits the brilliant and vibrant character of The Glenrothes to sing.”

Drawing from 5 native water sources, our spirit is distilled in tall, elegant stills and matured in sherry seasoned oak casks from the Jerez area of Spain. About The 42
The 42 is an ABV 43% pure cask-driven whisky with a 700ml quantity. It has a sun-ripened apricot, orange peel and sugared almond aroma with notes of coriander seed and nutmeg, and a richly candy style of brown sugar, honeycomb, vanilla and orange oil. The end is creamy, candy and velvety with a delicate lingering perfume. Simply 1,134 bottles of The 42 can be found worldwide with an RRP of £6,750, and might be bought from Fortnum & Mason, Harrods and The Whisky Store starting on fifteenth March.
