Princess Cruises held the christening/naming ceremony for the most recent ship to enter their fleet, Solar Princess.
The ceremony befell in Barcelona, Spain earlier at present with award-winning actress and performer Hannah Waddingham serving because the ship’s godmother.
After she gave a conventional blessing (“I identify this ship Solar Princess. Could God bless her and all who sail on her.”), an enormous bottle of champagne crashed towards the hull of the ship formally christening the vessel.

Actor and magician Michael Carbonaro was the ceremony’s emcee with “Love Boat” forged members Jill Whelan (Vicki Stubing), Ted Lange (Isaac) and Bernie Kopell (Doc) in attendance.

Solar Princess is the sixteenth ship in Princess’ fleet and their largest but at over 177,000 gross tons. She is the primary in a brand new Sphere class for Princess and has been in service for rather less than two months.
Solar Princess will cruise within the Mediterranean till October after which the ship strikes to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for cruises to the Caribbean for the winter season.
